Perform with Beyond

Beyond welcomes singers and instrumentalists of exceptional musicianship who are passionate about choral artistry. We have two distinct groups of artists who help bring our music to life.

Find Your Fit

Ensemble Singers

Ensemble Singers enjoy a more flexible, project-based commitment. This group forms a broad network of over 200 singers who may join selected projects that fit their schedules. Ensemble singers apply to participate in specific concerts, and our artistic team selects participants to create a balanced and cohesive sound.

Resident Singers

Resident Singers commit to participating in every mainstage concert throughout the season. This high level of commitment reflects their role as the artistic foundation of Beyond Choir. Resident Singers are chosen through a competitive annual audition process, ensuring the highest quality and consistency in our performances.

Instrumentalists

Beyond welcomes a wide range of instrumentalists to provide an immersive experience for patrons. Many projects feature opportunities for string, keyboard, and percussion players. Woodwind and brass instrumentation are also offered for select performances.

How to Join

All singers should demonstrate strong musicianship, professionalism, and the ability to prepare music independently.

If you hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in music with a primary concentration in voice, no formal audition is required for Ensemble Singer admission. Simply create an artist account and select the registration track that best aligns with your current membership interest. A brief introductory conversation may occasionally be requested.

  • Ensemble Singers form the core artist network of Beyond Choir. Admission to the Ensemble Singer network is completed through a one-time application process. Once admitted, singers remain part of the active network and gain access to project applications as opportunities are announced throughout the season.

Rather than committing to an entire season, Ensemble Singers apply to participate in individual projects based on their availability and artistic interests. This flexible structure is ideal for singers balancing multiple ensembles, teaching schedules, freelance work, or other professional commitments.

Project applications are reviewed by the artistic staff to ensure appropriate ensemble balance, vocal coverage, and artistic needs. Because each performance requires a unique combination of voices and instrumentation, admission to the Ensemble Singer network does not guarantee placement in every project.

    Best for singers who:

    • Prefer flexibility and project-based participation

    • Perform with multiple organizations

    • Want to participate in select repertoire or collaborations

    • Need adaptable scheduling opportunities

  • Resident Singers are Ensemble Singers who choose to make a deeper annual commitment to the organization. Resident Singer designation is offered through a separate annual application and audition process.

Resident Singers are expected to maintain a higher level of engagement throughout the season and receive priority consideration and placement for projects. This designation helps Beyond Choir maintain a consistent core ensemble while continuing to welcome additional artists from the broader network as needed.

In addition to priority placement opportunities, Resident Singers are enrolled in Beyond Choir’s profit-sharing program, allowing participating artists to share in the success and growth of the organization’s performances and initiatives.

    Best for singers who:

    • Want consistent participation throughout the season

    • Prefer a stronger ongoing connection to the ensemble

    • Are interested in deeper artistic engagement

    • Value priority placement opportunities

  • Beyond Choir regularly collaborates with professional instrumentalists for concerts, educational initiatives, recordings, and special performances. Instrumentalists join the network through a separate application and review process tailored to their area of performance.

Because instrumentation needs vary widely by project, instrumentalists are contracted on an as-needed basis according to repertoire and ensemble requirements. Admitted instrumentalists may be invited to apply or participate in projects that align with their instrument, experience, and availability.

We welcome applications from orchestral musicians, collaborative pianists, continuo players, chamber musicians, percussionists, and other qualified instrumental performers.

    Best for musicians who:

    • Enjoy collaborative choral and orchestral performance

    • Want project-based professional opportunities

    • Have experience in ensemble, chamber, or accompanying settings

    • Are interested in varied repertoire and artistic collaborations
