Megan Smania-Watts

MM Choral Studies

Megan Smania-Watts is a passionate ensemble singer with experience in classical, contemporary, musical, and a cappella performance. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and Music Education from the University of Michigan and a Master of Music in Choral Studies from the University of Cambridge (UK). During her years in Ann Arbor, she participated in various ensembles as a music director, arranger, singer, and conductor, notably music directing Amazin’ Blue A Cappella into their 2017 competition and 4th place win at the ICCA Finals in New York City. She then headed to the University of Cambridge to sing with the Choir of Trinity College, Cambridge under director Stephen Layton while pursuing a masters in choral studies in conjunction with Voces8. During her time there, she was able to participate in 5 international tours and perform as an operatic lead at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She recently returned to Ann Arbor to continue her work in development at the University of Michigan and regularly performs, judges, and music directs across the county.
