Kasey's commitment to diversity, equity, access, and inclusion was showcased at the NAfME Collegiate National Summit where she presented on the topic. In 2021, she was among four individuals who received a professional achievement award from the National Association for Music Education. Moreover, she founded, and was president of the Oakland University NAfME Collegiate Chapter and successfully supervised it to receive a Chapter Recognition award, among only seven chapters that were granted this distinction that year.
