Rob Carroll is a baritone with a rich background in vocal and instrumental performance, ensemble leadership, and theatrical roles. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance from the Eastman School of Music and pursued graduate theological studies at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. Rob’s professional ensemble experience includes the eight-voice professional a cappella ensemble, Canticle Consort, in Milwaukee which he founded and led as both executive and artistic director for 7 years. He also performed as core section leader and soloist with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Chorus for four seasons. As a clarinetist, Rob has performed with the Rochester Philharmonic, Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, and Skylight Opera Orchestra. He has played under the baton of Robert Spano, David Zinman, Christoph Eschenbach, Georg Solti, Dale Clevenger, Doc Severinson, Raymond Leppard, Edo de Waart, and others. As a soloist, Rob has brought depth and nuance as soloist to such works as the Sea Symphony and Dona Nobis Pacem by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Bach’s Jesu, meine Freude, Faure’s Requiem and Bernstein’s Candide. His theatrical credits span opera and musical theatre, with standout roles including Reverend Hale in The Crucible, Narrator/Mysterious Man in Into the Woods, and John Dickinson in 1776.
